A Word from Elera...

This club has been very, very inactive ever since our first contest, and I think all the blame goes to me. I'm so sorry to anyone who's been wondering why nothing has been going on lately.

Here's a list of reasons explaining the club's inactive state...

1) My computer crashed and hasn't been fixed yet.

2) I didn't want to start another contest until I had all of the prizes finished, which I believe I do now (our third place winner never requested anything).

3) It has been rumored that The Fairly Odd Parents has been discontinued by Nickelodeon, meaning that no more new episodes will be made...meaning that it might have become unsavable. I don't know if this is true or not, but the potential of it being a true statement is certainly disheartening.

So, I've been kind of in a rut as to what to do with this club. Should I continue, should I put it up for adoption, or should I shut it down? I have ideas for another contest, I have ideas for making membership more fun and interesting, I have ideas for games and quizzes, maybe even setting up Journals where people can have Quote Offs or something...I just don't know if I can make anything a reality.

Some things we would need for the club to become awesome...

1) My computer to get better or a new leader to take my place.

2) More action concerning Butch Hartman.

3) More members are always cool.

4) More people submitting their awesome art and fanfiction.

5) For the rumors of discontinuition to prove untrue.

Anyway, I'd love to hear everyone's input and ideas, criticisms, flames, feedback, what have you.

The Fairly Odd Parents may be extinct to many of its original fans, but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that the FOP community online has definitely played a part in our lives, if only for a few years. Long live The Fairly Odd Parents!

NEXT CONTEST!

For the next contest which won't begin for awhile, it's probably going to involve a theme of Protest against some of the issues the fans have with the new FOP. If anyone else has an idea on what the next contest should be, note the club. All suggestions would be appreciated. I think I made the first contest a little difficult, and this next one will be a lot more lenient. The first contest was to promote the old FOP values of humor, and I think it was pretty successful in accomplishing just that.

About the Club

We are the series-long fans of The Fairly OddParents. We've been around since the beginning of the series and the Oh Yeah! shorts. We love Timmy Turner's bucked teeth, Cosmo's zany ways, and Wanda's pink swirly hair. But we've noticed some changes in our animated friends and it saddens us. That's why this group was created; to remember the great days of FOP and to hope the writers bring the characters back to how they were at the start. We welcome new fans and long time fans, young fans and older fans, and anyone would loves the show. This is our show and we want it back the way it was.

This club mainly celebrates the Oh Yeah! shorts, Season One, Season Two, and the first half of Season Three (the episodes up to "Microphony/So Totally Spaced Out"), and finally the TV movie "Abra-Catastrophe" (or as many refers to as classic FOP). All characters, plots, items, and elements from this half of The Fairly Odd Parents (FOP) saga are the focus of this club, because as of late the spirit of FOP has detiorated and been pushed aside in favor of new and, as this club feels, less than satisfactory ideas and episodes. While we are not against everything in the new line of FOP episodes and specials, we still feel nostalgic towards the golden episodes and mannerisms of the original cast, a cast which seems to have suffered lately from inexcusable character changes and unfair treatement. "Save Our Fairies" wishes to renew the old FOP spirit with fanart and fanfiction that celebrates and emphasizes what FOP used to be, and what FOP used to be about. There have been some improvements on our beloved cartoon, but we do not want to desecrate what we originally loved about FOP to make way for them.

Da Rules for Joining
1) You must be a fan of classic FOP (the afformentioned seasons and TV movie). This does not mean you have to detest the newer episodes or movies of FOP, however.
2) Be kind to other members. No belittling, no insulting, no criticising others. Friendly debates are allowed, but other than that, please try to keep an amiable attitude.
3) Stealing art or flaming it will not be tolerated.
4) If you are going to fav someone's art, please fav the original piece, that way the original artist will know that their work is appreciated. You may comment on the picture here or on the original page.
5) Please watch the club and put the club's icon in your journal to show 'em that you're proud!
(6) When you join make sure the note's subject is "Magic Nine Ball", that way I can tell that you've read the rules.

To Join Our Club: Just send a note to the club! Please do not leave a message on the front page or in the journal, because just in case if I lose the list of members I can always go back through the notes. Thank you.

Da Rules for Submitting Art or Fanfiction
1) Must have something to do with the club's subject. Whether it be the classic FOP spirit, the possible detioration, or anything to do with the original FOP characters.
2) Please keep it PG13 or under. I have an open mind, but there are others who might get offended. (This rule may change)
3) No stealing another person's art or writing. If you think your material might've been stolen, please inform us immediately by sending a note to the club.
4) Please, please no OC art. As great as several OCs are, they can clutter up a club faster than you can say "zappy." OCs are what personal galleries are for, so we won't be accepting OC art.

To Submit Art or Writing: Just send a note to the club with a link of your submission or e-mail it to eleraxiii@juno.com . If it's art, please mail it in jpeg format, and if it's writing please send it in an attached word file or in a clear format on the actual e-mail.
